CAN A CHILD OF GOD INVOLVE IN MMM, BETTING OR LOTTERY?
One of the evidence of the evil of love of money is desire to get money without any process of working to earn it; it is like getting a product without process of production, it is called a short-cut of getting money or get-rich-quick. God does not bless people in such way. Getting money through unclear, unclean or illegal means is originated from Satan to deceive and destroys the souls of people.
WHY A GENUINE CHILD OF GOD CANNOT INVEST IN MMM
– IT’S ILLEGAL AND ACT OF COVETOUSNESS
MMM is a Ponzi scheme, which is an illegal investment scheme where the person or organization running it pays returns to existing investors from capital paid into it by new investors, rather than profit actually earned by the company itself.
Typically companies running such schemes offer higher than usual profits.
When you are promised 30% monthly return of your investment, the first thing a child of God will care to know is what does the organization really does? But when you are given or promised a profit without production or legal investment, it means you are part of illegal activities – what is not approved by Government, and you are covetous – you don’t care if they really make profit or not, if they are real or not, if they invest or produce anything or not, but as long you get money, that is ungodly act of covetousness. God does not bless in such way and anyone who has the Spirit of God will never be involved in such thing.
WHY GENUINE CHILDREN OF GOD CANNOT INVOLVE IN BETTING, LOTTO OR LOTTERY
-THOUGH THEY ARE LEGAL BUT THEY ARE ACTS OF COVETOUSNESS
Football betting, lotto or lottery is all about gambling. The word gamble means “to risk something of value on an outcome that depends on chance.” God’s blessing does not depend on chance, when people begin to seek for money by involving in activities like gambling, then there is a demon of covetousness behind that.
Any activity that involves gambling is ungodly because gambling is not part of the system of God, but covetousness which is unduly desire to get money, gain wealth through a short-cut means – a product without process of production. Playing the lottery as a get-rich-quick scheme is statistically futile, and it focuses the lottery player on the temporary riches of this world (see Proverbs 23:5). The fact is, God wants people to earn their money honestly by working hard: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). We ought to gain wealth through diligence, as a gift from the Lord: “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth” (Proverbs 10:4).
Gamblers, including players of the lottery, typically covet money and the things that money can buy. God forbids covetousness.
1 Timothy 6:9, 10, “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
